I have the big & tall seats and I am most disappointed with the quality. The leather is so loose. It looks completely different to the original seats. I am thinking of scrapping them and getting some alternatives. But I do need the lower profile because of I'm 6'2"
An option would be to get them re-upholstered properly, but I would like to hear from the forum first to see if there are alternatives.
Thanks

I used the Kirkey vintage buckets and then had custom leather covers made for them. That way, I was able to control the width of the seats, as well as how much the padding moved me up and forward. Here's a thread with some comparison pictures - note the difference between the first picture (standard FFR seats) and the fourth - the finished seats.
I also added seat heaters and inflatable lumbar to both the driver and passenger seats while I was at it...

Gumball, they look great. Do yours keep you low like the FFR Big and Tall seats? In Calgary, auto upholstery is mega expensive. Can I ask how much it all cost you? Did they use the FFR leather or start from scratch?
CTB,
I have the Kirkey Classics and have found that they provide much more space than the B and Ts. I had both and decided on the Kirkey's. I am 6'4" . You can notch the top rear on the outside to gain a little more space. Henry

Chopthebass, can you upload a pic of how bad the seats are? I'm 6'-3" and have a 20th anniversary kit on order that comes with the leather seats. I picked the big and tall version for my height but now I'm worried about that choice...
I'm hoping it's pretty close and I can do some tightening up when I put in my seat heaters.
Thanks for the heads up and info.

Very low - I was looking at the top of the windshield frame with the stock seats and I now look through the middle of the windshield. They also moved me back quite a few inches. All-in around $1,600 US with all new leather - no reuse of the FFR covers (the seats that came with the kit are sitting in my shop taking up space in case I ever want to use them). That includes the Kirkey seats, inflatable lumbar, and the seat heaters.

I bought Big & Tall seats about a year ago and have been pleased with them. They look the same as the original leather seats that came with the kit, but put me a few inches lower and farther back. I use a wedge-shaped cushion behind my back, and find the seats pretty comfortable. I'd talk with FF about the seats - my experience has been they stand behind their products.

Gumball, your seats look great. They sound like exactly what I would like to do. But the only way I am 6'4" is if I am standing on a 7" box!! Would the Kirkey seats work as well for someone who is "Big and Short", Or should I look for other solutions?

I'm 6', 210, with a 29" inseam... tall in the torso. My seats are actually too wide - I could have gone down a size or used more padding in the side bolster area. Try and find someone with the Kirkeys in your area and try them out.

Modified Kirkeys look great in the above post, once professionally upholstered. So I will investigate that option and see if there are any decent auto upholsterers here in Calgary.

Hey Gumball,
so how did you roll the edges after trimming the aluminum?
