I am still trying to nail down my donor for my Mk IV build. My question is for any forum members who have looked at using a 03-04 Mach 1 engine for their build. Does the Mach 1 engine have the same clearance issues as the 03-04 Cobra with the crank pulley and steering relocation ?

Yes it does. It's a 4.6 4 valve.

Thanks for the feedback ! I see from pictures that the dual pulley set up on the supercharged engine could be the possible reason for the frame modification. What is the issue with the steering and how drastic is the modification to overcome the issue ?

No there are no clearance issues with the MKI as it is not a supercharged motor.
Having built 3 cars from MKI's I can tell you you will not regret using it as a donor, it is the best donor by far in my opinion.
There are no steering issues. You can use the rack and the Hydroboost without a problem. You will need a little creativity with hydroboost lines but it is very doable.

I used an 04 Mach1 as a donor for my build and there were no clearance issues.
