I have heard of a few builders that are looking at changing the way the hood opens. I read somewhere a while back on a build thread they intend that whole front body work lift forwards?

Can someone link me to the builder that was wanting to do this?

I like the idea for two reasons.

1) Increased rigidity
2) increased accuracy in the gaping between panels.

Thoughts/critiques? is anyone else looking to or planning on doing this?

My hinges just swing the hood, not the whole front end. It could probably be done. It would take a bit of work.

Current setup from FFR:

Fenders: bolts to side sails, support near windshield, and brace on front bumper.
Bumper: bolts to front subframe and aluminum splash shield that attaches to subframe

The most work would be figuring out how to separate the aluminum and attach the lower corner of the fenders. as there isn't much access there with the splash guards in place.

Might be best to go with your hood hinges and try and stiffen up the existing hood.
