Hey guys,

I think I am going to buy the parts I need individually locally as I think it could work out pretty cheap. My 818 arrives end of the year so I want to take this time to purchase all the parts I will need.

Can anyone point me to the parts list needed for the build?

cheers

Your best best is to just buy the PDF manual. That's what I did in preparing for my build and it worked out great, until I bought a C and not a S... Still, a great deal applies.

If you've paid for an 818, FFR will send you a free electronic copy of the manual. This contains a list of all donor parts needed.

Do you mean you're not using a donor? If so I have a parts list that I can share, not including any engine/cooling/turbo/exhaust parts.

Other than that, check out Metalmaker's thread for a pictorial of the parts coming out of the donor:

Other than that, I'd check out the following:

Aluminum LCA and 2015 STI steering rack from Flatirons tuning
Cusco tranny and engine mounts
Wayne's (or verycoolparts.com) rear trailing arms
Engine cover hinge by Michael Everson
Hood and trunk latches by Mechie3

Here's a pdf with prices as guidance. My take on donor parts is that I'd prefer to use new parts in the suspension, and steering. I had a wheel almost fly off on my used '93 just because the original bolts were fatigued. I really don't want that happening on a sports car in the middle of a turn. The cool thing about not using a donor is that you can pick and choose what to improve. For example, I'm going with Wayne's rear trailing arms as well as the 2015 STI steering rack (13:1). A lot of the other basic stuff you can get from junkyards, etc. I can't upload a pdf so I uploaded 3 pages in jpg format:
