I just saw on page 100 of the build manual that I have to use different holes on the bracket depending on whether I have a 94-04 or 87-93 spindle. I have asked Whitby, but thought someone here can tell me the difference.

Thanks

They have a completely different geometry. Also the 87-93 use bearings in the brake discs. 94+ use non serviceable hub and bearing assemblies.

So mine came supplied by Whitby, but I have no idea which ones they are. I don't want to bolt them to the wrong holes in the bracket

can you post a picture? If there are no brakes discs on the spindle, you will have no lugs if its a 87-93 If it has lugs its a 94+

If the hub and bearing are installed on SN 95 ('94-'04) they'll be easy to identify and look like this:

Without the hub and bearing they'll be more like so:

This is a set of '87-'93; note the tapered rather than stepped shaft and cotter pin hole in the end:

There are three varieties of SN95 spindles; the ones used in 1994 and 1995 have a dogleg in the steering arm while the '96-'98 ones have a straight arm as seen here:

Generally the 1994/1995 versions are preferred due to slightly better geometry in regards to bump steer and a narrower track width which minimizes tire to body interference issues. 1999 and later spindles also have the straight arm however the caliper mounting surface is slightly different in order to accomodate the later model's 2 piston PBR calipers. You'll want to determine which you have so that you can select the proper brake components.

Clear as mud isn't it ;)
