Ok it's not a track report but:
Spent the weekend with some friends in Clovis Ca. near Fresno and they had a big car show.
Once again the Ferrari is behind the coupe.. :001_tongue: :001_tongue:

I am loaded up and off to Limerock within the hour for an unmuffled event. Will post some footage tomorrow!

We'll be looking forward to the videos Dan!
Scott....That's one fine ride, and it sure looks good in front of that Ferrari...;.0))
Steve....Glad you enjoy all the videos.....Can't wait to see your awesome car out on the roads, and see some video from up your way....What's your target date?

Thanks Scott, that helps. We all know that Ferrari just doesn't compare don't we?
Karen, if the stars align just right, I'll take my coupe on its maiden voyage (on the ferry) and road trip (to Anchorage) the weekend of Labor Day. We'll see.

Ahhh, unmuffled...the way Limerock should be!
Follow the link to see my best laps at LRP earlier today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcDsVGK-lCI&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
My only issue was some oil leakage from any of about 10 potential sources in a localized area that I had to diaper up before every run. Had some uninvited puffs of smoke in the cockpit on the earlier runs but some rags and zip ties got me through the day.
Last years best runs were in the high 1.05s that I really was not happy with (because Craig was in 1.03s if not better). Now having the 3.27s vs 3.55s, VPM front swaybar, a few extra lbs of torque due to recent dyno tuning (430lbs at the wheels), and considerably more seat time, I managed to shave off close to 4 seconds and nailed a much more respectable 1.02.01. Then I ran John D down in his BMW in an effort to provide immediate motivation to git er done!
By the way re: another recent post...these laps were with manual brakes, jeep master cylinder, PBR fronts, T-bird rear, CarboTech XP12s front and rear, and 13" Cobra rotors front and rear.

Tried to post this yesterday...not sure what happened.

Based on the overall feel and confirmed by the photos, the VPM front swaybar appears to have made a major difference in overall handling and body roll. Impossible to breakdown the variables but the swaybay combined with switch from 3.55s to 3.27s, 430 lbs of torque at wheels, and a bunch more seat time was good for 3 - 4 seconds improvement at the track versus my best laps last year.
Although LRP is a momentum track, based on power to weight ratios I probably should be under 60 seconds. I'll get there eventually with more seat time and some better braking, but for now I am feeling good considering manual brakes with jeep master, PBR fronts and T-bird rears, 13" C---a rotors and Carbotech XP12s all around. Rear rotors were always 100 degrees hotter than fronts...225-275 front / 325-375 rear by time get into pits and out of the car to check.
I have never locked them up and don't think I can but of course I don't really want to at 135mph at end of front straight! I really don't think I can because the 335/315 combo of Hoosiers are awfully sticky on a 70+ degree full sunny day. Based on photos at end of front straight where I am under heavy braking I am on fence about adding more rear brake. With that much weight transfer I am thinking I might start locking the rears if I say went to PBR rears, but theoretically that would help balance the temps between front/rear and give me more brakes overall?
Any thoughts on that controversial issue?

Thanks for the post Dan!! Saw the video on the the other forum and of course watched it here again. Good Lord I can't wait to do that myself.
Your stance looks pretty darn good to me in those turns. Keep up the great progress.

Craig worked awfully hard to get this comprehensive G2X data overlay. It's a bit of an investment of $$ and time but the information is priceless!

For one, I thought my oil temps were well in range, say 220ish. It appears I am closer to 250 and it was only a 70 degree day so I have some work to do before July/Aug. Water temps are quite reasonable so perhaps an exchanger would be a good solution? I know that was John Card's suggestion recently and his chosen solution.
There 's also something funky with AF#1 but I think that's a faulty sensor. Will swap sides an dtest again to see if it reacts differently.

Awsome video Dan. If you want a comparioson I have my old G2X data from limerock in 2009 somewhere. My video from the race: http://www.vimeo.com/6030637 (lap 2 is the fastest.)
You get down the front straight damn good.. I can only get to 123mph

John,
Thanks for sharing the video...that was a great ride and some nice lap times! I'd love to overlay your laps and see where I can make up some time.
With the front straight speed differential you are obviously making up a lot of time in all of the corners. I push pretty hard through the left hander and on through to the braking zone before the uphill, but you certainly push it much harder into the uphill, through west bend, and I bet you've got a few mphs on the downhill. I know the car can do more there so it's really down to experience and guts at this point!
