A few days ago after we replaced the clock spring on our car the horn was going off when the car was in reverse. It only went off with the key off so didn't think much off it (so you can't leave it in reverse).
Today we are starting putting the body on and plug in the rear lights, the horn goes off with the key off. Any ideas on how this could happen?

It is all plug and play. Don't know how it could be that.

Was it doing it prior to what you did
I've wired the horn into the turn signal wire for a joke, but that's a new one on me...

FFR steering wheel? The center horn contact grounds out on the column nut unless you use spacers.
I've wired the horn to the air conditioning compressor so it blows at seemingly random times. Maybe that's why I have no more friends.

No stock wheel. We have worked it to the reverse lights, some hoe its triggeing the horn relay. When the reverse light bulb is in they honk when it's not in they don't.

Only when the key is off? Maybe your donor had security and you deleted it? I'm just thinking out loud here.

That is what my brother thought, it didn't come we a key fob. The plan is to wire from the reverse indicator on the trans right to the reverse light.

If you can't figure out the wiring issue, you could just run a 12V wire to the horn with a switch in the steering wheel (horn button). This decouples the horn from the rest of the wiring.

What is the status of your electrical system.
Does the car start and run?
Does everything else electrical work?
My first thought was that you a missing a ground wire. Maybe engine block to frame ground strap. Possibly one of the many ground connector in the harness is not connected.
