Hi All

Due to circumstances beyond my control (someone thought it would be a good idea to turn left in front of me at an intersection and total my 2005 Acura), I am in need of a new vehicle. I am seriously considering a new 2015 Subaru Impreza and would like to know if anyone has anything to say about this car - good or bad. The test drive I took today really impressed me and it seemed to drive better than the 2016 Acura ILX that I also test drove. I am not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but I figured this is where the most Subaru experts would be. I have never owed a Subaru before, but they seem to be very well made and good value for the money.

Thanks John

Get the 15 WRX over the Impreza but that's just me. It depends on what you want from the car and what is important to you. AWD subie, luxury Acura, fun, awd and better interior WRX. I'm a bit partial to the WRX because Ive owned a few and have a 15 as well but I've had similar acuras before too. The base model Impreza is just a bit bland for my taste.

I concur. Get the WRX or STi. A lot of car for the money. However, I would get a BRZ if I could afford a new car.

BRZ I would stay away from for a few reasons. It's too small underpowered and boring. Had a 14 for a daily driver while my cousin was away for school. Put about 10k on his car and felt like it needed a turbo and awd. A s2000 felt better power wise and that's esentially what you would be getting wih storage in a brz/frs configuration.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the input. Although I do like both the WRX and BRZ, it's more than I need (or maybe I'm just getting too old) - this is going to be my daily driver. I have a 1979 Mustang Cobra for my weekend fun car. The car I am looking at is the 2.0i Limited package 4- door model that is pretty much loaded. Most of the dealers around the Greater Toronto Area are low on 2015 stock and this dealer is willing to give me a really good deal if I act quickly. Is their anything I should know about with these vehicles, everything I've heard and seen on the internet so far has been positive - even Consumers Report likes it.

At least if someone hits me in this car and totals it, I might be able to adapt the motor and trans in to an 818!

Thanks John

Im no expert but checkout Nasioc thread on failed rod bering nightmare/stories. Seems the newer wrx run leaner to make the gas mileage number SOA needs. Dont mod it and have subaru do the maintenace just in case you need the motor replaced. Read the thread so much good info.

They are solid cars. I don't know about this model, but they haven't been the best on mileage. Still, they're more fun than the competition, IMHO, and very reliable if you keep the oil filled (prone to main bearing failure if you don't). I have a 1994 Impreza wagon that's going strong and is one of my favorite cars to drive. So if heritage is any guide, it's a good choice.
