View Full Version : Subframe Width

I sent out two hood hinge prototypes and one was received today by Dan. Already we found a problem. I have chassis #15 and the front of my radiator subframe is 22" wide. Dan has chassis #17 and the front of his subframe is a scant 14" wide. Whaaaaaaa? Curiously enough, the front bumper opening is 22" so my subframe tucks underneath the bumper. Dan had to trim the inside opening of his bumper underneath the headlight buckets.

The purpose of this thread is to ask for subframe measurements and chassis numbers. The different widths only means a change to one part, the cross brace, but it's an important one.

Thanks!

Bob, that might be the only "skinny" item that I have! That also explains how I need the aluminum floor even with the front splitter. Wide nose frames can attach the inner fenders to the nose, I have to attack them to the lower aluminum!

I can't quite attach my aluminum to the nose. Even though it's wide up front, it still tapers away. I put my aluminum floor in just to hold the side radiator tunnel aluminum.

I'm guessing the 22" +/- is the correct (updated) width and the 14" is the original. Somehow you got the old version and I, with an earlier kit number, got a later version.
