View Full Version : Custom Fuel Filler Neck?

I currently have a 2001-style filler neck like the one posted below. I know it's hidden, but it's just ugly and sloppy looking. I was considering the Breeze piece for a cleaner look ... but then I heard it also required some modification for the MK4 and it really just looks like a mandrel-bent exhaust pipe. (With the 'hump' for the mounting bracket to secure it) So I was considering just building one from scratch but my question is ....

Is the "Reverse-Flow Plunger" (red) required? Does the Breeze/FFR supplied unit have this? Anyone make their own?

That keeps the fuel from spitting out of the filler neck when you top off the tank. If you don't want gas on your paint it's pretty important.

Mike, that makes perfect sense to me ... and just what I was originally thinking. But what made me question it is the Breeze unit and FFR supplied filler neck doesn't appear to have that. Or does it and I just can't see?
