Before assembling the body to frame on my 818S I decided to add 5 more gallons of gas to tank and, low and behold, fuel is leaking from the sensor. I dismounted the sensor from the tank and the "o ring" looks fine. I have slightly bent the tabs on the lock ring and the leak seems to have stopped. Any other ideas or solutions?

Assuming you have the "old" style 818 gas tank from the Hot Rod:
The level sensor only fits in one way (it's documented in the manual, it's with the white piece closest to the middle of the car). Mine leaked too, and I had to partially drain the tank and re install the level sensor. There are little alignment tabs on the metal housing the sensor sits on and mine weren't exactly in place.
Just what happened to me, not sure if that helps.
