I took my 818 to my local tire store which also does alignments. I must confess that my brother manages the store. Ultimately that didn't seem to matter. I asked him to align the car and then try to give it a sticker. I told him about the whole MAC thing and that he will be just failing it due to it being a kit car.
Well he was able to put a sticker on it no problem. Its a rejection sticker due to the check engine light being on. But its a sticker and no MAC visit. He said he had to put the vin in twice because it rejected it the first time. Then he just selected kit car on the list and plugged in to the OBD port. That simple. This is great news if the stations can do these.
