kford1953 started a thread loking for information on engine / transamision in '33 Hot Rod

I was thinking about putting in a chevy 383 stroker and a t-5magnum trans and a ford 9".any feedback on that combination

That would work very well IMO. Just make sure the 9 inch would fit a 87-93 Mustang. Hope you take the plunge. The 33 was my first FFR kit and had a ton of fun building it.

That combo will work fine. Currie makes a Ford 9" with the Mustang mounts that should fit.

My nephew sent me a picture off of facebook a few weeks ago. I don't recall the company name but they have a new bracket that fits over the top half of the pumpkin bolts on a 9"
You slip the pumpkin in put the bolts in all the holes around the bottom half, hold the bracket in place install all the top half bolts and torque everything down. This new bracket has
ears sticking up where an 8.8 would have them but the multi hole design lets you dial in the UCA angle and the bolt on design is strong and means no welding needed to make
a 9" fit where an 8.8 did. Probably see it at SEMA this year in the new product isle.
