I agree. If traction is limited I would go mid 20's. The tires will wear faster but traction will be noticeably better.

Thanks , I'll give that a go. I am making a 1000 mile round trip in a few weeks to visit an old friend in Alabama. It should be a good shake down for the car. I have 400 trouble free miles so far. Just very hard to drive this car slow. LOL.

Steering feel on these cars is often quite sensitive to tire pressure. I can tell if my pressures are off by more than a pound or two. Different tires also seem to work better at different pressures. Somewhere between 20 and 27 psi seems to be the general range but try different pressures within that range and see if you can feel the difference. Currently I run 21F 23R on Nitto NT-01's. My Bridgestones worked best at 23F 25R.

Tom,

Lots of Prius owners run 45-50 psi so they can claim another tenth of a mpg. If mileage is a concern on your trip you could try that;)
