It's ordered. Well, mostly. The kit is ordered, still have to take care of the drivetrain, but I have a little time on that. I spent the better part of a year planning and now we're executing on that plan. Here's what I did:
Mark IV complete kit
Coyote
TKO600
IRS
power steering
Halibrand replica wheels 17x9 front; 17x10.5 rear
Stainless side pipes
Wilwood brakes
chrome roll bar
chrome passenger roll bar
big and tall seats
heater, visors, wind wings, wipers
vintage gauges
Color? I'm thinking something in a dark red/mahogany/burgundy. I saw a red GTM painted in a Chrysler color and a roadster painted in an Acura color that I really like at Huntington Beach. Stripe color is still and item for discussion.
I like the idea of a wood dash, and that's the primary reason I went with the vintage gauges. I think they'll look better on wood. I've seen a few veneers that look really nice, and I need to do some research on that in the near future.
My original concept was wherever possible, new technology. I took a detour on that for a while, but ended up coming back to the Coyote. I learned from the tech team that they've re-done the sheet metal for the foot boxes and there's more room now than in the past. That, along with available room in the engine bay were my concerns. I checked out several at Huntington Beach and I'm comfortable with my decision.
I recently started a thread on ABS because I was seriously considering that. I appreciate all the input and decided to go with the Wilwood brakes and skip the ABS.
I live in the Chicago area, so I'm having it shipped. The kit will be ready on June 27! What's next?
1. Sign up for build school. Hoping for August.
2. Garage is pretty much ready, but needs about a day of prep.
3. I got a body buck from Gumball last fall and I need to re-assemble it.
4. I need to get serious on reviewing build logs here. I haven't been too conscientious on that, but I need to focus!
5. Get all my other home-related projects done and out of the way before delivery...
6. update the avatar with a different photo when the kit arrives. Teddy the Terrier is trying to keep a low profile.
I can't wait to get started!
