It's ordered. Well, mostly. The kit is ordered, still have to take care of the drivetrain, but I have a little time on that. I spent the better part of a year planning and now we're executing on that plan. Here's what I did:

Mark IV complete kit
Coyote
TKO600
IRS
power steering
Halibrand replica wheels 17x9 front; 17x10.5 rear
Stainless side pipes
Wilwood brakes
chrome roll bar
chrome passenger roll bar
big and tall seats
heater, visors, wind wings, wipers
vintage gauges

Color? I'm thinking something in a dark red/mahogany/burgundy. I saw a red GTM painted in a Chrysler color and a roadster painted in an Acura color that I really like at Huntington Beach. Stripe color is still and item for discussion.
I like the idea of a wood dash, and that's the primary reason I went with the vintage gauges. I think they'll look better on wood. I've seen a few veneers that look really nice, and I need to do some research on that in the near future.

My original concept was wherever possible, new technology. I took a detour on that for a while, but ended up coming back to the Coyote. I learned from the tech team that they've re-done the sheet metal for the foot boxes and there's more room now than in the past. That, along with available room in the engine bay were my concerns. I checked out several at Huntington Beach and I'm comfortable with my decision.

I recently started a thread on ABS because I was seriously considering that. I appreciate all the input and decided to go with the Wilwood brakes and skip the ABS.

I live in the Chicago area, so I'm having it shipped. The kit will be ready on June 27! What's next?
1. Sign up for build school. Hoping for August.
2. Garage is pretty much ready, but needs about a day of prep.
3. I got a body buck from Gumball last fall and I need to re-assemble it.
4. I need to get serious on reviewing build logs here. I haven't been too conscientious on that, but I need to focus!
5. Get all my other home-related projects done and out of the way before delivery...
6. update the avatar with a different photo when the kit arrives. Teddy the Terrier is trying to keep a low profile.

I can't wait to get started!

Al,

Congratulations on the order - going to be a great build. I can't wait to see one with the Coyote in it... I'm not aware of any others like that in the Chicago area as of yet.

Stop by anytime you have questions or want to see how something looks assembled - I did that quite a bit on other local cars during my build and it often helped to see things that were a few steps down the road from where I was at the time so that I didn't cause issues as the build progressed.

Congratulations on your decision. I'm sure you will enjoy the journey of building and take a lot of pictures. The forums are here to help with any problems you might encounter and there is a lot of knowledge in the membership. Start a build thread so we can enjoy the journey also.

Your options and color choice are very close to mine.

Congratulations, I ordered mine last week. My build date is 6/13. My build plan is virtually the same. I'm also looking at burgundy with silver stripes.

Another local guy, Chris really should see about getting commissions.
I'm picking mine up on the 27th and have noticed time seems to be slowing down,as the date gets closer.
On a positive note, found my irs today, let the rebuilding begin.

Congrats on the order. I helped drop a Coyote in a MKIV. It is tight....REAL tight, but it fits.

Way back FFR had one of their show cars, I think a MKII, in a GM burgundy with silver stripes. Beautiful color combo.

Thanks for your encouragement! Stevenburgess, I have info regarding the foot box mod. When I met with Tony Zullo in Huntington Beach, he told me that FFR had re-engineered the sheet metal to provide more foot room. I asked Dan, one of the tech guys about that, too, and he reported that all of the kits being produced now have the new configuration. We may not need the mod any longer.

Yes its a tight fit but its Oh so nice when you push the pedal. Interesting thing, some don't like, is its pretty quiet at idle so you can get out of the neighborhood without much noise. However when you push the pedal down it has a crack like a fuel dragster.

That's good if they are doing the footbox mod now. If so, I'll hook a busy up here that is still looking at getting it.
I'll check mine when I get back to verify.
