View Full Version : Help me helpme PLEASE 302 motor mount does not fit frame
I have the motor in the car but the motor mounts do not seem thick enough the pass. side is in the hole and the drivers side is a bolt and a half short from touching the frame mount

durk, do you have pics?
I've found on my current built that I had to keep the engine mounts a little loose while installing and really have to work that last inch to get it to drop in..

Are we sure that the mounts are on the correct sides? On the passenger side the stud is to the front with the mount's bump or pin behind it. On the driver's side the bump/pin is below the stud. The stud goes into the slot in the frame's pedestals on both sides. It's usually pretty easy to get things to fall into place by engaging the passenger side stud with the slot and then kind of "roll" the engine over to engage the driver's side.

Hey guys thanks for the info I decided that the mounts were wrong went to Oreillys and got the wider ones will try them in the morning. thanks again
