Next week my wife and I are flying from DFW then driving from Orlando, FL up the east coast with a final 4 days in Wareham, MA. Any ideas on a good route from the Philly area to Wareham which would get us around the congestion of NYC and NJ and save on tolls? Yes, we are set up for a factory visit!

If you have access to Mapquest they will first give you a route thru the Bronx. BUT you can drag the blue line up and around the Bronx. Its further but a better drive. If you cant get it done repost and I'll find away to get you the directions.
No sure if you will save anything on the tolls.

287 to 87 and across the Tappen Zee bridge. In fact if you want a nice ride north and avoid DC, Baltimore, Philly etc then go inland and take 77 up to 81. 81 turns into 78 which takes you to 287. Take a look on a map and you'll see that it looks quite a bit longer but believe me you will get there quicker and a lot less stressed as the traffic is so much better if you avoid the 95 corridor.

Also, avoid the George Washington Bridge and the Cross Bronx Expressway, no matter what your GPS (pack your own) tells you.

Rolling through Greenville, SC off RT85, stop off downtown for a meal and a walk around Falls Park, you won't regret it.
