Hi All, This is my first post, so hopefully the pics come out like they should. I had my driver's seat modified by a local upholstery shop for $100 to fit my 6' 2" self into. What a difference! No more banging my knee on the dash trying to get my foot on the clutch. As the pics should show, I had him taper the seat stuffing down to 1" thick in the back & remove the oem stuffing from the back & replace it with 1/2" thick foam. It puffs up & looks nearly identical to the passenger's side, but I fit much better.

Hi SVO,

That's a pretty clever tweek. If you didn't know it was there, you probably wouldn't even notice the mod. Good job!

WEK.

FFR actually offers that mod as an option. It is called the big guy seat.

I am finding this very helpful cause I really didn't want to pay the extra for the other seats. Just call me Mr. Cheap, but I would rather have the extra cash for spindles or lower control arms.

Yes, I'm cheap, or "efficient", we'll call it as well. I wasn't about to spend cash for the leather big boy seats, and don't need to mod the passenger side either.

For the record, I believe those are the older style seats that FFR used to provide, e.g. having plywood and fiberglass in their construction. The newer style seats, released with the Mk3.1 Roadster as I recall, have a metal frame base and a full foam molded seat. No plywood or fiberglass anywhere. I've had both and the newer seats are much improved and I find more comfortable. I suspect the mod pictured here would be useful on the newer style as well. Not unlike what I understand FFR is providing with the big and tall seats.

True, these are from a 2005 Mk3.
