Jim,
What you are suggesting is a felony in most, if not all, States.

I would bet that Jim has a rolling chassis with VIN that he doesnt need (or some such thing) that would satisfy someone's requirments somewhere...though Jim is perfectly capable of speaking for himself!

I am not selling a vin to make a stolen car legal (I am not selling anything). We build componant cars and many builders mistakenly sourced parts from multiple cars. If someone needs a vin from a demolished car.... since many states are "one donor" states this is a ticket for that. Not trying to break the law, just trying help a fellow FFR brothers out.

Not looking to sell (giving it away). When I registered my GTM the state gave me a hard time since I did not have the vin number from the car the trans came from (I bought the trans off a member on here). I finally found a totaled 911 that I could use as the VIN source. It took months to find one. I am simply offering a VIN from a totaled WRX that was not sourced for the use of 818. If this is not OK, Admins please delete. Thx

There's no id marks on the tranny or the engine. To associate with a vin from a particular car. Only engine serial numbers for what batch the motor was made from. CHP checked and couldn't find any for me.
