Another Black Mamba Update

Well....the cold left and gave way to weeks of rain it seems....well....the sun is out...nice clear morning so take the car to work day....ended up leaving early...lol... I was gonna say the car was bulletproof now at 700 miles on the clock...nope! looked down at the oil pressure gauge and at a steady RPM, oil pressure was swinging 20 psi and didn't seem to move up or down with RPM... got home put a mechanical gauge on....TONS of steady oil pressure....changed the speedhut sender out....fixed....!!! will send the other one back in for a free replacement!!! nice!!! .... car is still AWESOME! Verified the jetting last weekend with the wide band.... all good!!!! Car shows this weekend I think!

anyway...SEMA car out to lunch....at.....HARDEES!!!! lol.....driving the hell out of it!!!

me too... my luck with oil pressure is not so good (Wayne talked me off the ledge again...) ...was a little surprised that the sending unit failed so quick...but hey...it happens and speed hut said they would replace it for free....can't beat that! gonna be a good summer I think :)

The gauges are Speedhut; get used to failure:( Their customer service is great but unfortunately their reliability not so much.

Erik I love it, a DIET Coke. A few years ago at work we would occasionally order breakfast sandwiches. I always got my ham, egg, and cheese, on whole wheat bread. See, the bread made it healthy, just like your DIET Coke.

Looking good E. What's the range been thus far? Any issues with the race pan or the cooling system?

no issues at all with the cooling system other than it works really good. Race pan is fine as well....range...well...looks like 18 highway and 12 in town...but I can't keep from playing with it really...so those are just a swag.... I know that cruise is rich confirmed by AFR.. but with no vacuum advance I know I pretty much not gonna get great MPG. If I lean it out to any where close to 14:1 at light cruise it has a fit.... runs plenty strong and solid throughout the RPM the way I have it tuned now. AFR at WOT is right at 13:1-12.9:1. really happy with it. It may not have all the technology and slickness of the green lantern...it's louder, you smell the gas and open oil breathers, idles at very low 700- 750 RPM and doesn't have a stereo.....I LOVE IT!!!!!! lol..... For all of the non-high tech stuff .... I will tell you what... and I am still at odds to why...I set the car up with the same alignment specs I always use...this car handles better and has a better turn-in than any of the 3 cobras I have owned...the ride is fantastic. I would have to think it is the tires...but geez....really? it has the smallest engine thus far that I have used...so maybe the weight helps too...the car is pretty light...no turbos hanging off it. Anyway...like I said...I love it.... I am at the point now though that I would not easily sell. It's definitely well sorted out now....the GTM has my habit fed for now.....I guess we'll see.....
