Need a quick measurement

My FIA body has a few extra inches of fiberglass around the trunk....something like its owner. I assume I have to trim the opening roughly to the orange line in order to attach the sideways bulb seal that I found in the weatherstripping box. I just need a measurement for how wide to leave the flange. Thanks

Just checked; Mk3 and Mk4 are both 3/4".
