I can't believe I've driven by the place for 15 years and never seen it. Although in my defense the building is pretty hard to spot since they planted some pine trees in front of it. I went over on Wednesday and met Edris, the daughter of Stuart who also introduced me to her brother Duane. Edris runs the place and Duane runs the machines. Very, very nice people. Edris took me on a tour once we looked over my fuel injection system and it was pretty cool. Turns out Fran Hernandez works there too and while he's 70 years old, he still wins just about every vintage drag race and is now running at Bonneville. Here's a little bit on the duo of fran and stu. True pioneers of the hot rod era if there ever was one.

All the early injectors started with hand shaped/carved molds! Crazy.

Eric,
Does this mean that the 289 will be Hilborn injected? I worked in a pattern shop for many years making the wooden patterns, it is truly a lost art with computer aided design now a norm. I still have my shrink rule and several patterns at the house.

Awesome Eric.

The hillbrorne crew are a class act. I put these hillbrornes on my GTM. I'm so happy I did. They work and sound amazing.

Those are some short stacks John! I love it. Like the chains too. Makes it look even tougher. Like a junkyard dog. :)

Just finished Hilborn Injector installation on a friends 351W stroker. Not easy to get them in sync. Drove me crazy for months.

Electronic? Or straight injection? What system?

Electronic. Wouldn't do it again

Well, the good news is that they are local and so we'll get it figured out. Syncing 8 stacks is always tough.

It's funny I was just reading this post as I had not seen it in a while. As for my experience thus far with Hilborn, it's been awesome. Literally. They have painstakingly helped me troubleshoot an issue that was not even theirs. I have gone through several fuel maps trying to lean it out when the problem was the bottom end of the motor was having issues with the rings, blowing and burning oil. So, Once back together, I turned the key and started right up. I went back to one of the original maps and now it runs awesome. As for the intake itself, it was a snap to install and sync the throttle bodies with the help of Andy. Then adjusting for synchronization was easy as well with a syncrometer. I spent some time on the phone with Andy and maybe this is where Chuck and friend were struggling. Like anything there is a sequence and know that I know it, it's simple and I can tune this thing myself with ease. Not trying to push anything here but I do love this system.
