Upper control arm washer question!

My build will finally be starting soon so I thought I would read the build manual again.

I get to pages 37/38 and I am confused. For the upper control arms it says "use a washer with the front locknut" and "do not use a washer on the rear locknut".

I am curious to know why? Is it a geometry thing?

No, it's a fit thing. There isn't room for a washer at the rear.

Or if you are anal retentive to a fault like I am, you grind the washer flat so it will fit. I have no reason or explanation for my bizarre behavior.
