Hello,
Some things we plan on doing eventually prove to be impossible, and frequently due to circumstances beyond our control. Such is my desire to build a Factory Five 289 FIS Cobra. However, because I am having to abandon the project, I have a large number of components and parts that I had collected and prepared for the Cobra. So, without getting more into the background of all this unnecessarily, I have FOR SALE the following:
ENGINE/ POWER PLANT: $ 2000.00
- 1983 Mustang GT 302 Engine. This was the last year for the carbureted 302. It has only 30,000 miles.
Is in excellent condition and is freshly painted Ford blue.
- Holley 4150 Double Pumper Carburetor, 650 CFM, manual choke, remanufactured and tested, like new
- Edelbrock Performer Intake manifold
- Tubular, Forward-facing Headers with new gaskets/ new bolts
- New Power Steering Pump
- New Water Pump w/ gasket
- New Manual Fuel Pump
- New, one- wire Alternator
- Alloy Valve Covers/ Rare “ Powered by Ford” / Newly Finished/ New Bolts
- New MSD Blaster Coil
- MSD Digital 6AL ignition
- Factory Remanufactured MSD Pro Billet Distributor/ like absolutely new
- New Autolite Spark Plugs
- New Ford Racing Plug Wires
- New Rear Main Seal ( not installed )

- New Clutch/ Pressure Plate/ Throw Out Bearing
TRANSMISSIONS: $ 1300.00
- Two T5 World Class 5 Speed Manual Transmissions / Both clean and in great condition.
- Both with 302 Bell Housings ( one powder coated black )
- Two Tailshafts with yokes
- One Clutch Lever Cover ( hard to find )
- One Transmission has a Forward Shifter Linkage I Fabricated/ for 289 style cockpit/ works great
DRIVESHAFT: $ 210.00
- Driveshaft Cut For 302 to T5 installation as per Factory Five
- Shortened/ Balanced/ with New U-Joints/ Painted Black/ like new
IRS DIFFERENTIAL & REAR END: $ 750.00
- Thunderbird IRS rear end/ 327 Gear
- New Limited Slip Clutches/ interior cleaned and set to correct tolerances
- Powdercoated Gloss Black Pumpkin
- New Hub Bearings
- All New Poly Bushings
- Hub Carriers Bead Blasted Clean
- Hubs Bored for Mustang/ Ford Wheels
POWER STEERING RACK: $ 65.00
- Mustang/ 15:1 Ratio
MUSTANG ADAPTED PEDALS: $ 275.00
- Modified Mustang Pedal Box as per Factory Five/ Bead Blasted & Painted
- Pedal Shafts Bent to Correct Spacing
- AC Cast Aluminum Pedals Mounted
- New Multi-Position Clutch Quadrant/ Billet
- New Clutch Cable and Aluminum Firewall Adjuster
- Standard Mustang Gas Pedal Included
- Mustang Ebrake lever included
PLEASE…I will not sell any specific items within a category separately. I really prefer to sell the entire package to one person for one car. The price for everything is the total of all categories. This is a pretty comprehensive assortment of parts and PERFECT if you plan on building an accurate reproduction of a 289 Cobra. I will consider selling groups of items. For instance, I will sell the entire Engine package to one person, and let’s say the IRS package to another.
The prices are much more than fair, and will allow you to build a reasonably economical car. This was my intent, and I’d love to see someone take advantage of this. Please contact me via my personal email, and provide me with your phone number. I can take and send photos, but only if you’re seriously interested. We can discuss pick up, delivery, shipping, etc. Any payment would have to be in cash or in a cashiers’ check from a bank. No personal checks.
