Xxr 530?

anyone here running the XXR 530 wheels?

They come in 17x7 +35 and 17x8.2 +35 for the front would a 8.2 be to wide for the front?

I am looking at 18x8.25 for the rear but it is a +33 will this push the tire out to much? the other option on the chart is 18x7.5 in a +35. I dont see 2mm making that big of a difference.

I really like these wheels and want to have them out flush to the body as much as possible, I not sure I will need wheel spacers for these but I did put on ARP studs just in case.

I have seen a few build threads with 17x8.25 et35 fronts that's the size I ordered that size and 235/40 size tires hope they fit

It's been a couple of weeks, how do they fit? I didn't realize you could put 235's out front. What did you do for the rear?

I ended up with xxx 550 rears are a slight different offset and rub on the inside a thin spacer will solve that

These are XXR 530s, 17x8.25 up front, 18x8.75 out back. The fronts are 19.6lbs, rears 21.8.

I haven't tried cornering with them yet but driving on the street up and down in goKart mode they are OK.

Just mounting my body now, so we will see how the 235's do on the front, but Wayne says they are good.

Did you buy wayne's wide tire rear trailing arm? Would they fit on a stock trailing arm setup? I am very interest as those rims look awesome!

No, I bought the cheap ebay Godspeed set, trailing arms and lateral links all adjustable for about $210. I have 3/16 to 1/4 in clearance at the trailing links. I haven't done the alignment yet, but I've set the ride height and have approx alignment. I won't know till I drive it and load it up in the corners. Others have posted that under extreme lateral loads in the corners that tire flex may touch the trailing links. Tamra and Andrew say that during regular street driving its OK.
If I have a problem, I'll just cut off the bolting bracket at the rear hub connection and re-weld them on 1/2 inch over.

I got the set from americaswheels.com Good pricing, but not sure if they still have the Maxxis tires. They didn't have Federals left in the size I wanted at the time. Might have more now.

What was the hub sizing? The site says 74.1 did you have to buy hub entering adapters? Thanks for the link to the site, it looks like its cheaper for me to order from the states and have them shipped to Canada than to order them in Canada.

Not sure what you mean by hub sizing, but the godspeed ones just bolted right in..... almost. The spacers were a little too wide so I ground them down a bit to fit in the frame spacing at the front.
In the rear where it connects to the hub I had to add a couple washers to fill the gap.

also has anyone put on the 20mm offsets on? and how far do they stick out the fenders?

I have the XXR 530 18x8.75 +33mm offset on the rear with stock trailing arms. The car is still up on stands (I don't even have tires mounted) and no alignment yet, but I have plenty of room. Also, I got a set of 4 aluminum hub center rings. I think they're 73.1o.d. x 56.1i.d. and they were $12 delivered from nlmotoring.

Got the fronts mounted. I'm really happy with the looks but I'm thinking I should have stuck with narrower rims and tires. My off road experience has made me comfortable with tire rub but now I'm thinking i made a mistake. You can see the back of the tire hits both the fire wall and frame. Now this is at full droop and I'm sure sitting at ride height will improve things but I'm still a little worried. Oh well, this'll just give me another reason not to let anybody drive her!

I have a set of xxr wheels with 225/40-18 tires that I got off of craigslist. I have not looked at the backspacing size yet.
For the back I'm using WRX hubs, with a 1" spacer/adapter to go to 5x114 The rears line up perfectly with the fenders.
The fronts are now on '07 STI hubs with no adapters/spacers and they fit the front fender lines perfectly. BUT they rub the aluminum sheet metal and the steel frame.

So I'm looking at new xxr wheels & tires that will not rub, but same backspacing, OR modifying the sheet metal, frame and/or steering stops. They don't rub by much.
I really want to keep my 225/40-18 tire size because I like the way they look on the car with the body on, and its the same size as my daily driver.

I went 215/40/17 and 255/40/17 on my 17x8 and 17x9 wheels (both +35 offset). I think I made a good choice, as everything fits*. But, we'll find out as the season progresses!

*Fits with Wayne's control arms in the rear.

Did you fit the body on yet? How do they fit the fender lines?
I think I have an understanding of what it takes to keep the tires clear of the frame and suspension pieces, but it seems like there is no information about the body. My stock WRX wheels fit fine with no rubbing, but they were way inside the fenders. It would be nice to have a measurement from the hub face to the fender lip.

Makes perfect sense! I would also like such a measurement. I haven't tried fitting the body on at all yet, so I'm not sure if they'll clear. I kept under the 24" OD of the fronts, though they do lightly rub frame at full lock. Not sure how rears will fit yet.

I have 235/40 - 17 on the front on 17 x 8.25 XXR530 and they barely hit the firewall.
Rears are 255/35 - 18 on 18 x 8.75 xxr530 and no problems with the godspeed trailing links.
I'm happy with my sizes.:)
