In Wayne's VCP door mounting tips post (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?15697-VCP-Door-mounting-Tricks&highlight=wayne+doors), he suggests putting a plate behind the handle rather than just using the rivnut and spacers, as described in manual update 1H. I was wondering if anyone has followed the manual, and what sort of results they got. Does the handle and door panel feel solid enough following the manual's procedure?

It's a part we'll have to touch a lot, so I don't want it to be flimsy. On the other hand, Wayne's tip adds at least some extra work to finishing the doors.

I have used a bolt and spacer on the 2 I built. Wayne's deal is more robust IMO.

I tried the manual's suggestion but i was not pleased with the robust nature of the solution. Yesterday i fabricated a simple sheet metal plate and riveted it to the frame . This is a simple solution and is much more solid and i think will be better using the door a lot

Thanks both of you. I'm convinced - I'll mock up something like Wayne's mod.
