My MK4 kit is coming at the end of the month. I am working on getting my IRS rear together. I have removed my IRS Knuckles and they look a bit dirty. Do anyone have a recommendation on how to clean them up? Bead Blast, chemical soak? I just don't have much experience with this? The parts are all aluminum. Here is a photo.
Thanks for any help.

Give Stu Spencer a call. I believe he's a supporter here or on the other forum. If memory serves he's in Washington state does a super job and a one stop shop for IRS needs. Hope it helps.

Mine weren't quite that bad, but beadblasting worked fine, followed by some spray clear coat. Mine were completely stripped at the time - the hubs to be sent off for re-drilling to the 4.5" pattern, and all the rest to make way for new bearings, seals, and bushings. Look like new now.

Assuming you aren't doing the bead blaster method try this: After complete disassembly use dish soap and water while scrubbing with steel wool, scouring pads, etc. If you are really into self punishment, you can break out the aluminum polish.

Send them off to Stu. You get them back looking brand new, all new components, hubs properly drilled, and ready to install. You'll spend a little coin, but save a lot of effort.

Bob, thanks for the help. Just a quick question, who is Stu?

Highly recommended - I used him to redo mine with new Cobra hubs from Ford Racing, bearings, and poly bushings. I just sent everything to him (knuckles off of the donor plus new parts) and they came back perfect. Couldn't be easier.

This option sounds perfect! The forum is a great place as I would never had found this on my own. Thanks!

Yup, that's Stu. He's been doing this for a long time, and is very good at it.
