Here you go. Hard to find a good black wheel with polished spinners shot on the web, but this is the best I could find.

CSX2001 makes for a much better reference photo. Here's the second picture, since I had more time to work on it this morning. Perspective is a little off but you get the idea.

Do they make a gold color you could use for the spinners? That would look pretty cool.

Sorry, I don't see the point of black wheels. I saw a four wheel drive truck in town today with what I know had to be expensive wheels, but they were (I think) solid matte black, dirty, and may has well have been steel rims because they were invisible.

Not a photo shopped image but it is the real deal of which I'm sure you already have many of.

I wonder if they were originally truly black or was it dow 7 coating... DOW 7 can look in a variety of shades from very light to dark brown in color and is often thought they were black...Just a thought... The gold spinners where also a dichromate finish to counter the corrosion and usually wore off over time..

Just choose your powdercoat color.

Looks like my edited post got trashed. Reposting both images for reference.

I like the black. Is it just my eyes, or are the spinners on a different plane than the wheel in the second photo?

They're definitely a little ****-eyed. Photoshop can only do so much with angles and re-sizing when you're taking images from different angles and trying to merge them into one set of planes. If I had a reference photos where the angles were more in line, then it would be a lot easier, but this is good enough for a quick and dirty review.

Pavie, if you're using photoshop then just hilight the wheels around the spinner with the lasso select and then take the white out in the color edit. My photoshop license expired somehow otherwise I'd do it.

There is a bunch of ways to do it in photoshop to have it look real. But I think Erik gets the overall look :)

I noticed that on the original #1, the QJ's are installed like the 427 and not reversed like the 289 FIA's..................just saying.
