Hey Gang,

Since the Wookie posted up his BBQ up I figured I better pull this out of the HB Cruise in Thread and start it as it's own. It was pretty buried. On the Sunday following the Show we'll be heading up to Hells Kitchen on Ortega Hwy. I know most of you will have already gong to Dave's BBQ and then the show but this is something Dave Smith wants to do but it's really "No Big Deal." We're going to be shooting some footage along the way with the drone etc. so it would be nice to have a good number of cars . But it's still a great reason to get out and actually drive the cars! Sorry we couldn't make the auto-x happen again. That was really fun but expensive. :)

We'll stage just off the freeway in San Juan off the 74 at 10:30 and then leave at 11:00am and head up for lunch! They will be waiting for us!

Note: The 74 Exit is under construction so you can exit off of Junipero Serra off the Southbound 5 and go left then right on Rancho Viejo and you'll run right into it after you cross Ortega.

See you there! Or not! No big deal.

I am planning on trailering my Spyder down from Alberta and would love to make the drive on Sunday. I am also going to cruise Mulholland on Friday morning. Any suggested routes?

I will probably be doing the run, just have to figure out how to get to the starting point from my hotel on Beach Blvd.

Guys, you are all very welcome. I had a great time. I love meeting so many new people. Sorry I had to run out of there so quickly. I had to get back to the house as my sister was watching the kids for me and my wife and had to drive to home to Sacramento.

My speech (again Dave put me on the spot) was not good LOL. I was just in a hurry. I will prepare next time. But as I drove down the mountain, it was all I could think of because there are so many things I could have said...all good of course! First off, next year will be even better...why? Because I will have a car! My good friend Stack dropped by to help me get the 289 all unpacked so if anyone needs packing paper.... It seems he's always helping with a car somehow which is strange because he lives in NY! Thanks buddy. But we'll try to get another racing event together and if we can't we'll do another cruise, maybe to Palomar Mountain (like Ortega but x10) with a wine country. :)We'll see.

Tony Zullo- I was really going to put him on the spot since he yelled out "Nice speech Erik" as I walked out but I decided against it. And I have some ammo! :) But to Tony, I say great job. It seems like customer service changed overnight when Tony walked into Factory Five as an employee and if you've worked with him, I'm sure you'd agree. Building these cars requires a lot of patience but imagine having to deal with those people with no patience all day on the phone... how much patience does that take!!! But another great friend I've been lucky enough to meet during this journey.

Doug- probably the most helpful person I've ever met. Period. Love hanging out and working the show with you.

Hodgkins- I thought we lost you to a heart attack on Saturday. Trying to get the go cart there and work the show....you looked so stressed, and they you disappeared for a while! I was like, has anyone seen Dave??? But then you popped.... up with oil pans....that no one needed. Glad you could get the car there man. Next time ask for help!! I'm sure one of us will head over no problem!

Kim, John, Glenn- Always a pleasure and looking forward to the ageless avengers meetings once my car is done.

Great meeting the rest of you. It's great to put a face to a name from the forums. Take care and see you again next year....or build party?? :)

Thanks for arranging Erik, it really worked out great for us since we live on the other side of the hill. We did not bring the roadster to HB, only the Coupe. I have also not driven the roadster in months. It was nice to get her out and hear her roar again. Lunch was awesome and it just brings us all closer. Looking forward to a Palomar cruise next year!!
