I'm having Brian (iWire) do my 06 harness. He uses new fuse/relay boxes and wire for just about everything non ECU related. If you don't find anything else, you're welcome to any of the leftover boxes and connectors, although it'll require some splicing.

You can use the fusebox, but not the wiring from 02. You will need an 07 WRX front wiring harness as it is specific to that year and model if you plan on using the whole thing.

Just a heads up that if you decide to go with us, we would not need that section of the harness for reasons wleehendrick mentioned and because the 07 has all of the engine plugs come out of the main bulkhead on the passenger's side. Normally we would snag a few plugs for things like the radiator fans from the front section, but we have plenty of extra bits lying around to replace anything missing.

Dan, I'm pretty sure the budget is the number I told my wife when the Stewart truck pulled up.

Another solution:
I cut out both fuse boxes. Look at The "Power Supply Circuit" pages of the "Wiring Systems" in the factor service manual on pages, WI-21 and WI-22, and cross out all the stuff you don't need. You're left with two fuse panels that are under 50% utilized. Replace Subaru two fuse boxes with these. (http://www.waytekwire.com/item/46345/MINI-FUSE-AND-MICRO-RELAY-RTMR/) (should be a link to waytekwire.com fuse box)

This does not fix your problem of missing some plugs, but it opens up your options on donor years.

I can recommend doing this mod with confidence now that my car drives! :D

The green plugs go to the gauge cluster, the other end(s) go to the main harness inside the car. There really aren't that many wires that are needed to make it work correctly. I think wire swapping would be very doable.

iWire was not in my "budget" either. I just put down my deposit and got on iWires list today. About a 3 month wait. Guess I have a new "budget". I've had lots of new "budgets" since this project started. At this point, I'm thinking it's part of the US Dept of 818.

The 07 engine harness is completely different from the 06 harness.
Search for "2007 WRX dash harness" on Ebay. plenty there

Easiest way to determine if it's an 06 or an 07 is with the main engine plugs. The 06 uses the older style with 2 smaller plugs on the driver's side whereas the 07 has one big plug on the driver's side. Then you can go from there.
