Hello everybody,
I'm Georg and really excited to be a new member in this forum. Finally I registered myself after I was following your threads already a long time. It's fantastic how you guys help each other and I'm looking forward to my own build in the near future.
Unfortunately there are still some obstacles to go over since I'm living in - China (!). Import, custom and some regulations which actually are not very helpful at all to get the fun started.
So my order is still on hold for now and I have more time to get my shopping list done 😊

I want to build a normal street roadster, no track use but as well for show.
I'm planning to order the complete kit with a 347 Stroker from "Proformance unlimited" with 8Stack intake in combination with the "Proforce" Astro A-5 T5 transmission with 0.80 update.

It would be great to get some feedback from you guys about this combination.

More questions are on my list - but step by step...

Thanks to all of you and can't wait to get started...😀

Welcome Georg. Will this be the first one in China?

I know about one in Shanghai and one in Hongkong, but I'm pretty sure mine will be the first one in Beijing. As mentioned, some really complicated regulation to import these days and the chance to finally drive it its even worse - or very expensive

Welcome.

It's interesting that importing something into China is tough. Just about everything that exists here got exported out of China.:p

George - if you figure anything out on importing to China please let me know. I have considered importing my roadster but i have not pursued it at this point. I suspect you would need to have the car registered/licensed in the US prior to importing. The registration/inspection process over here is pretty cumbersome. Anyway, if there is anything i can do to help let me know.

Hope you get it over here successfully. You will have a blast with the build!

Hi Georg,

Welcome to the forum. I didn't see your rear end choice for this project. Is it going to be the 4 link?

BTW: Beijing and the Great Wall are on my bucket list. Where will you be driving the roadster mostly? From all the video tours of the city it seems very densely populated with vehicles and people. Are you outside of the city so you have some breathing space?

Good luck and have fun,

WEK.

Hi skullandbones.

thanks for the good wishes. I'm still working on the import issue but getting closer...

My kit is one of the 20th years anniversary edition so I will go with the 2015 IRS.

If you are in Beijing make sure you contact me. There is a lot to see and many places without traffic and people. Myself, I'm living in the west mountain of Beijing with nice good quality mountain streets, remote villages without street bumpers and fresh air... Will be fun to drive here.
