I am new to these forms and FFR, as well as recently joining NASA. I plan on attending the Road Atlanta event in March to see some action first hand. I was sad to see that 21 days out there are no FFR Challenge entries. Which made me wonder if I do build a Challenge car and plan on running NASA in the southeast would the car be eligible to run in other NASA or other organizations classes.

When not running FFR class in NASA, I run both ITE and VP3 (SCCA Vintage)

I am usually out there and I have three classes I run

and Outlaw Vintage 2.
I just haven't made it out the Road Atlanta this year, but soon.

Thanks again Gordon, I know we talked about some used Challenge racers earlier Still thinking I would like to build, Build School in May should make up my mind on that. Good to know there are other classes the car can run in.

Hello and welcome to the group R Thomas. Come to VIR March 20-22, me and a bunch of other FFR challenge cars will be there :)
As for running with NASA in other classes, I have run successfully in ST2 with just a change of tires to Hoosier A7 245/40/17 instead of the Toyo RR we run when FFR Challenge spec. If you look at the rules for ST2, its all about power/weight (8.0:1) with a bunch of adds/deductions to this to try to equalize the different cars hence they give you a break running skinny tires lowering the power/weight down to 7.7:1 which is more how our cars are 2463lb/320hp. The issue I have with ST2 class is its dominated by very slippery aero cars which a FFR Challenge car is not. Keeping up with those cars at tracks with long straights like Road Atlanta/Road America/WatkinsGlen/VIR causes some difficulties for us, but we can hold our own on the twisty tracks like MidOhio, Thompson, NJMP.
