UPDATE: As of 10/30/2015, these are sold out. I would make another run but will need 10 people confirmed before I do.
Use this bracket in place of the FFR provided passenger-side steering rack mounting bracket for the following benefits:
Provides OEM sized contact area for the steering rack
Allows you to use the OEM rubber isolater
Doesn't require any shimming, spacers, adjustment, fabrication, or any other fiddling to make it fit and work properly. Just sit it on the frame and slide the bolts through
Won't dig into the steering rack housing and possibly wear a hole
Sized to perfectly orient the rack square to the frame
Holds the rack in place more securely
Doesn't cause clearance issues for the radiator mount frame bolts
This mount fits early and late donors and uses the FFR provided nuts and bolts. It replaces the FFR provided passenger side bracket. If you have an early donor (pre 2006), you may need to use a spacer to elevate the driver's side of the rack 1/4". I am happy to provide one for you. I've had a couple of people ask me if my steering brackets are available yet. They are not, they're still in testing.
In the meantime, I see no reason not to buy these. :)

Thanks Mechie, that is really nice of you.
I have definitely decided I won't be making another batch. Mostly because to make them lower in price, I'd need to order 50+ and would need to drill the holes myself on my big drill press (apparently drilling holes is expensive lol). Not sure there is enough market to support another 50 units, and the main reason I had these made is that it wasn't a lot more to make 15 of them vs 1 of them so figured I could help other members by providing a cool part for about what it cost me (including vendor subscription fees, shipping, and manufacturing costs).
I've sold a few, and once the rest are gone, they are gone for good. I'm hoping, Mechie, that you'll have yours finished and ready before or very soon after mine are all gone so people will always have one to buy.
I have a few other ideas for some very unique items that I'll focus on for the future. In the meantime, I hope these brackets help some folks.

Mine's on the way! I should get it soon and I'll probably install it Saturday and let you know how it works out.

Mine came in yesterday and looks pretty good. I'll try to install it when its not zero degrees in my garage ;)

They have to do another setup which is where the money is. The contour is made on one setup, then they have to take it out, rotate it 90 deg, touch off a new set of tools, and then machine it.

Thanks guys, let me know how you like them.

Yeah I figured it was something like that. Sure wish I had my own CNC setup!!!

My greater need is to have someone develop a hinge system for the engine cover. Removing the cover without a helper is going to be a real bear what with clearing the rear cover, the pins and the roll bar.

Didn't Mechie already create one, or was that MetalMaker? I SWEAR someone did.

I made hinges for the trunk. Someone else made a cover that can tip back, don't recall who.

Nuisance made the tilt-back engine cover. He also cut and integrated the "side tabs" of the cover into the quarter panels. I think this made the swing on the cover easier, but I'm not sure if that was a design requirement.
Hindsight, do you still have 15 of these left? I should just get in on them before they're gone shouldn't I...Chad sold out of his LCA bushing blocks and now I'm back to washers.

Following the off-topic question, I hinged the front engine cover.

Thanks for the reminder. It looks like your hinge system would interfere with/disallow the use of Craig's adjustable brace.

I got mine installed today. It fits perfect and is a much better solution than the kit's bent bracket and spacers.
However, since I already had my radiator and front sub-frame installed, it was a bit of a PITA, since there isn't clearance on my frame to remove the bolts without a fair bit of disassembly. (The lower tabs on my front sub-frame a little wide, so it's centered with a spacers and my rack bolts have to go upside down, otherwise the nuts don't fit)
I would recommend a better bracket like this to all builders, and install it before the radiator and front frame!
Thanks, Jeff!

As I'm installing and riveting all of my front fender aluminum in place I stumble upon this thread. Grr talk about not having any clearance anymore. Might just have to tackle this on day.

Thanks for the review Lee! I'm glad it worked out for you and thanks for posting the bit about your radiator subframe fit consideration. My subframe was so tight that I had to tap it on with a hammer. The bolt head on the under-side of the steering rack bracket cleared the radiator subframe by a few mm on my car but if you had to shim yours out as you mentioned, I could definitely see that making it more difficult to fit a bracket but am glad you got it to work.

If you have an 02 steering rack, you'll need to shim the opposite end to use this bracket. Here's how it looked when I first installed it (left side is tilted higher than the right):
41666
I made 2 1/8" shims to elevate the right side by 0.25":
41667
Now it's level

Thanks for posting that. My rack came out of an 07.... I'm guessing the mounting points on the frame are the same and it must just be the rack that's a little different by 1/4".
I'll add a note on the first post about this. Thanks again!

I still have some of these available. When they are gone they are gone.
If you have the early rack, I can make you a 1/4" spacer to go with these. I have the materials needed.

Any left? I have a 2004 steering rack so I guess I would need the 1/4" spacer as well.

Hey Hindsight, do you still have any left? I'd be interested in one. I'm using a 2015 STI rack, but I think it should be ok. All I need is longer bolts.
Thnx,
Speedy G
