Mike Forte sent this image to me of my brother's new motor:

I kinda feel like a new dad showing off an ultrasound of his kid but I feel a little bit of that kind of stoke!
Can't wait for it to arrive!

That engine and bay are so bright you're going need shades!
I still really like the turned firewall treatment and the stripes are a cool touch!

Did you polish the aluminum in your engine compartment or is that stainless?

David-
That engine is all kinds of sexy! The engine bay looks great too, and when you get the engine in there, it's going to glow all the way down the street.
Very nice Sir.

Steve

Thanks MP! What the heck is your name anyway? You should put it in your sig. ;) I'm contemplating doing the dash to match, but I think it might be a bit much.
aarvig, you should have a sig too so I upgraded you r account. The engine bay is polished aluminum. I coated it with sharkhide. It's not perfect but heck, it's a driver, not a show car. I just can't help putting my own touches on it...
:)
EDIT: Didn't see your post Steve. Thanks man. Wait until I stick the glow lights in. :o

Very nice. You did not say what size engine it is. Give us some details. I love the Pent Roof valve covers!

Mike, it's the 345hp B-cam BOSS 302 from Ford Racing. I don't know why it has polished valve covers; they were supposed to be black. They look good though! It has a Road Race pan, March pulley system with polished alternator and power steering housings and it is getting the Holley Dominator multi-port fuel injection. The multi port setup will work with a supercharger if I decide to bolt one up in the future. It's getting a quiktime bellhousing and TKO 600 with .64 final gearing with the midshift setup.

David, looks very good with the silver frame. Did you polish the panels yourself?

King, not on this car. I did mine but it literally doubled my build time! I found a good polisher for this and future builds.
Here's a shot from Mike Forte yesterdaysetting to engine up on the dyno. I'm hoping it will ship this week! Ain't she purdy?:

That is a sexy beast!! I have nothing technical to add. Love it, love it, love it!! (if it had truly been an ultrasound picture, I wouldn't have called it sexy...just so you know).

I have that same oil pan on mine, you're going to need spacers to let the engine sit above the frame rails.
Here is a picture of the engine before the spacers.

Here is a picture of one of the spacers I made.

Wow, good catch Frank. I'll check my mounts. Would a chunk of aluminum work OK?

Interesting. I have the rear sump Canton road race (Mustang) "T" oil pan and it is comfortably above the frame rails even with lowered engine mounts. Looking at the Canton specs the pan I have is 7 1/2" deep and yours is 8" deep. Any particular reason why you wanted that pan? Perhaps you could have Mike swap it out for a 7 1/2" pan.

If you lift the engine watch out for hood clearance.

Don't know if this belongs in a car on the road or an art museum! It would never go in my garage, the garage isn't good enough to house it.

I put a call into Fortes to have him look into the road race pan and will chime back in once he gets back to me.
R Thomas, thanks for the compliment! ALMOST seems a shame to put gas in it. I can't wait to see it in my engine bay!

Engine is built! Mike will be sending me the dyno sheet and video but it turned 370HP / 350 tq. Not bad for a 340hp rated motor!

Dave, if you need, I have a go-no-go set up to dial in the bellhousing.
It bolts to crank, you install bellhousing and see if feeler gauge fits..
I an ship it out to you or bring it to open house this year.
