I am about 80 hours into building my 65 Coupe, ordered with the 351 motor mounts. I have not completely decided on which path to take with the engine, build it myself, or order a crate motor. The Ford Racing 427 crate motor is pretty tempting. Any comments from Coupe owners who have used this engine?

Thanks!!

I purchased the all aluminum 427W engine but haven’t had to install it yet. You can use the motor mounts and headers that FFR sells for the 351W kit.

I was hoping the FFR motor mounts and headers would work. Thanks Bill!

I'm really happy with mine. The Z heads may need different headers. I know they do on the roadster.

I have the Z heads and the type 65 351W headers fit fine. I think the roadster headers aren’t high enough to cover the top of the exhaust port but the coupe headers I have easily cover them. I almost sold them until I check to see if they would fit and they did.
