Please don't pound me for stupidity as the price was right, it drives and its a California SB100 licensed car, 800 miles on odo, and its making my son stop wrenching on his M-3. One bucket list item is checked now. Ive been reading this site for years and this one fell in my lap.

What I know is car came from a San Francisco area widow whose husband built it in 1990's, but she could not find the all important history of the build receipts. The motor is a 1987 casting 351W @ 427 inch stoker w/ Top Loader 4spd with reversed shift lever like most have (Motor/tranny came together on a crate she remembered) and solid Ford style rear axle. The 4 wheel disc brakes and suspension parts appear to be Ford with 5 lug wheels. Frame is square tubing that looks stick-welded to me. My brother suggested the suspension could be the now vintage Mustang II set up popular years ago as A-arms have grease zerks on top.

QUESTION: Where do I or how do I look for identity clues as to which kit it was? I wish it was a FF (oh please) but just want to know the truth. There has to be a frame or chassis number somewhere.

Thanks for any helpful advice on my quest.

First of all, welcome to the forum. With only one post it will be hard to post photo's, but maybe one of the moderators can help with that. Photo's will go a long way with the identification.

Is there a title for the vehicle? How is it listed on the paperwork for registration. FFR uses round tube frame.

Post some pictures. There are lots of experienced guys on here who know many of the different brands and may be able to help identify it. In addition to exterior and interior views, specifically include multiple views of the engine compartment, front and rear suspension. Same pictures and questions over on ffcars.com and clubcobra.com will get even more views.

If the main frame tubing is square, it's not a Factory Five. They are 4 inch round tube. Factory Five also hasn't used Mustang II components, if that's really what you have.

Good luck.

Pictures of the chassis
Pictures of the engine compartment and firewall
Pictures of the car (side profile, full), pictures of trunk

All for starters.
