We were closed yesterday, Tuesday January 27th, along with the rest of New England as we were hit with a near record snow storm. Wednesday morning dawned bright and sunny, and thanks to the hard working Ops crew who plowed throughout the storm, Factory Five is up and running. Estimated snowfall amounts are about 30″ and it made for killer photos this morning. Check out how Factory Five fared and the massive wall of snow after the clearing.

With all of the snow, we thought this would make a great photo. The Factory Five 427-powered Mk4 in front of the buried rig.

The front of the building was spared much of the snow drifts.

Stewart Transport driver Donald Furr had loaded up Monday and was ready to head out when the worst of the storm hit. He rode out the storm in the Factory Five parking lot. Don is from Texas and this is his first time shoveling snow!

Ops Director Nate Johnson borrowed his Dad’s John Deere front end loader.

On north side of the building, the drifts were close to 6′ high!

Don (below right) dug out his rig and headed out on the clear highways morning (Wednesday, January 28th).

Factory Five’s Chris Ronni (left) spent all day and most of the night yesterday plowing keeping Factory Five clear.

The building was ready first thing this morning and by 9 AM, we had received our first steel and aluminum delivery.

Check out the snow banks on the outer perimeter of the parking lot.

Sort of looks like a snow version of a steely wheel.

Our Ford F-350 did a great job of plowing.

With the sun shining bright on the snow, we figured it would be a good chance to take some pictures that you wouldn’t ordinarily see. Check out the photos of our LS7-powered GTM and 427-powered Mk4 Roadster.

It's always nice when the sun comes out after a storm like that. Some of my favorite photos have been taken in similar conditions.
Thanks,
Tom

Down south we don't get the big snow falls, but we do get the occasional hurricane. I've always thought the most beautiful days (weather-wise of course) is the day after a hurricane takes all of the crud out of our air. Makes digging out a little more bearable.
Beautiful pictures, by the way.

Here is pics from my house and office. The black dot is my grill. My office has 4 steps going in...at least an 8' virgin snow drift.

Met Don for the first time Friday when he came by my house to pick up a Daytona destine for CO. Very nice guy. Helpful too.

It looks like being able to get those great pictures was worth the inconvenience. But then again I didn’t have to go through it.
Glad all is will,

Beautiful pictures at the end of all that work!
I bet Chris didn't have too much time for coffee breaks with all that snow; he must have been going non-stop.
Glad everyone is well, and things are back to normal.

Steve

My type 65 coupe was the first car to be delivered on Dons truck. Cool to know my car was sitting in that truck snowed in. We had a hell of a time getting it to my pole barn in 4 inches of snow here in Michigan. But all when well. Looking forward to getting started on it tonight.

Awesome pics. Beautiful cars. I am new to the forum and thought, with being snowed in, I would take the opportunity to get familiar with the site. I've been anxious to get started building an MK4. A friend of my has a Superformance which he let me drive 18 months ago. I was hooked and after attending some caffeine and octane gatherings, I realized that it will be an FFR car for me. I spent 2014 building my house and detached garage as I needed a place to build it. And, this spring it will be ready. And, I am planning to take the upcoming April class in MI. I could go on all day, but to spare you all, I have just a few questions. The most pressing is licensing in Wisconsin. I live in Kenosha County and any guidance would be appreciated. Also, if there is anyone in my area, I would like to hear from you.
Thanks.

Just make sure you have some Sprecher or Lakefront on hand at the days end when you're done.

Jay,
Go to the notifications tab at the top right of the page - it should guide you to your "inbox" and the Private Message ("PM") screen. You'll have a message from me there that you can reply to - don't post your e-mail or phone here in the open forum section. No worries replying to a PM with that info, though... at least if you're corresponding with a known member here.
I'm around my shop most weekends, so let's work out a time you can get down to see it.
