At one time, almost at the dawn of time.... way... way back ...we had a few people selling a driver &/or a passenger dropped footbox for the early Mark I's. But with the changing designs, all the vendors had stopped selling them. Anyone still have a old dropped footbox kit or patterns to make them from?

Ya I can crawl under the car and make a cardboard paper mockup of the what I would need. Just looking to see if there are patterns around or maybe someone has one an old kit stuck off under a pile of rags they might consider selling.

If you are open to completely rebuilding the PS FB, these are EXCELLENT Plans!
Not exactly sure of the differences of the earlier MK1's but these are GREAT for the MK3 / MK4 and will SIGNIFICANTLY widen, lengthen (and drop) the PS FB. (I believe it's an even bigger improvement for the MK1 & 2. This mod is not that hard (with the body off) and your passenger will greatly appreciate the expanded foot room.

Thanks I am considering those plans - along with finally pulling the body off the o'Mark I, replacing all the wiring, clean up the body, rebuild the foot boxes, install the hood hoop, having the Autometer's gauges rebuilt and a few other misc changes to the car... but it's just so difficult to park the car for so long! It was painful to park it for the half week I replaced the engine, with the switch over to carb!

I need to get my right leg at more of an angle so it doesn't go numb on longer drives, so am looking to start with the drivers side dropped foot box.

1/2 week! Wow you work fast!

I can't help you with the DS FB drop floor, but while you have it apart, I can highly recommend the RT Gas Pedal and his Dead Pedal is also excellent.
I don't know what seats you have, but I added a right leg support.

Thanks for the suggestions... and yup... RT Gas Pedal is great! I have it in my car too!
I have the old stock lowback FFR seats which I have adjusted to "tip back" a bit - did a lot of playing with seat positions then tried raising the seat and that helped the most. So I found that I needed to drop the floor a couple of inches to improve my leg angle.

Contacted Earl and FFMETAL ...no passenger foot boxes stuff for Mark I's
So I spoke with Jeff at Whitby. I'm going to make up some templates off my original, untouched, early Mark I passenger and driver foot boxes. We'll see what Jeff can come up with. He still has some Mark II passenger expanded foot box stuff to work from.
Thus for a brief moment in time... the ol'Mark I's tires will be off the ground to give me enough room to get under and make templates for Jeff! http://www.ffcars.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

All this in preparation for a road trip in a few months!
