This weekend, I was able to address some of the outstanding issues prior to registration.
Thanks to Mark Dougherty for the tip of getting a "bow" in the window before attaching to the frame. My first upgrade when the finances allow will be the glass hatch!

The Lexan is really easy to scratch, so I guess I will be polishing some of the areas soon. I ended up painting a 2" wide stripe around the inside. All of the screws are drilled and tapped into the frame, #10-32 button heads, stainless steel.

I also finished mounting Russ's A pillar slat. I was looking at a poster I had of coupe #2601 and noticed the side view mirror was attached at the base of the A pillar slat. Interesting that the holes in the mirror supplied by F5R lined up pretty well with 2 of the 3 holes in Russ's base plate.

Very cool. You have something you can be very proud of. I have one question how did you decide at what angle to put the gas filler cap? I have been pondering how it should be clocked and I have seen them rotated to all possible rotations and all of them seem to have their advantages.

Just wondering,

Bill,
Thanks for the compliment. As far as the filler cap, I bought Mike Everson's gas cap spacer. I then rotated the cap to a position which when opened, would not contact the body.

Thanks for the info. I didn’t know about the interference problem.

That looks really nice. I do like the look of the hatch with all the bolts. Good idea with the mirror too...never noticed that.

Very innovative idea on the mirror. Wish I would have caught that.
