As far as pre-orders, I will definitely do that when we are closer to production and also have all the pricing details. Shaping the inner liner for the top and a few other things for product release. We are on target for the Open House reveal. The guys are also looking at cage designs and the ability to produce an 818CR model for the small group of roadracers who want an enclosed car. The challenge is that the summer is already really full with events and the engineering slate is really full.

The hard top is a removable part that replace the rear deck panel and includes a glass hatch and glass quarter windows. The glass hatch in the photo above is the plug that was made for the glass molds. DOT compliant glass is being made by our supplier.

The 818C follows the 818R and the 818S models. One of the biggest advantages of the 818 is that, with a body that is made of smaller panels, we are able to change body styles with a minimum of effort. This makes the 818 a very flexible platform, and a fun car to build because it can be upgraded and changed easily.

Rear spoiler options are not finalized yet.

Almost everyone who has visited the company remarks how the 818 is much more dramatic and aggressive in real live versus in photographs. The 818C has a very aggressive stance.

The 818C hard top is designed to retro-fit to all current 818S models. It will not fit the 818R.

The 818C design includes the following features:
Power side windows
Rear quarter glass and side-vented engine bay
Hinged rear glass hatch
Inner bulkhead with rear window
Inner hard top linear with air intake duct to engine bay
Comes with front windshield glass

Looks GREAT Dave....
As owner of a Red 13K mile Fiero GT Fastback....I see a number of similarities in the lines....ALL good...!

No offense to the owner of that sweet Fiero, but I don't see any resemblance in the lines.

I can't wait to see the new front-end for the coupe. I hope they keep the center/"grille" area more or less intact (meaning the opening and how it integrtes with the hood) because that part totally works as is.

I totally agree... Sorry but I just don't see any resemblance at all.

What's wrong with this above picture?

The Murtaya... It's a kit car, based on the WRX platform, Weighs in at 1000KG if done light.,costs three times as much as an 818 and won't fit anyone over 5ft 10 without dangerously imparing visibility as the driver is forced to look right through the top frame of the front screen. Just aweful.

This is why I love the 818... Nailed its design goals and won't kill you upon a roll over...

The "lines" IMHO look closer to a cab forward 240z or the BRZ.
