Does anyone know if the dash LED lights that come with the Mk III kit are polarity-specific ?

Thanks

You're speaking about the red/green/blue small indicator lights included with the kit, used for turn signal indicators, low/high beam, fan, hazards, etc.? Unless something has changed, those are incandescent not LED. If so, yes they have polarity. The long black lead is 12V+, the shorter black lead is ground. If you want LED, you will need to get them elsewhere. Lots of options. I got some from DelCity. And yes those have polarity as well.

Hey SnakeElvis. If you're referring to the LED strip, NO it is not polarity specific. I've seen the same 12 volt lighting LED strips at the local home improvement store for under counter lighting.

Follow-up: Back home and looked at the FFR supplied dash indicator lights. Again, if this is what you're referring to. The longer black lead is 12V+, the shorter black lead is ground. I just checked to confirm. I also updated my initial response.

Not sure the ones at home improvement stores would be 12V? 12V's are available at O'Rilleys, Autozone, etc.

Exact same. The stuff from Lee Valley Tools comes with a small stepdown transformer.

I see. Since they are 12V then you don't need the stepdown. And they are less expensive than at the auto stores. Good find. Thanks.

Yep, my courtesy and trunk lights are 12 volt DC LED pucks that were intended for undercabinet lighting. It's been quite a few years but as I recall I found them at Lowes for about 5 bucks per.

i had built a kitchen lighting system years ago with those lights, had them on a dimmer as well. Thats a good inexpensive way to go for under dash lights. I am planning to put at least one light in the trunk and under the hood, these could be the solution.
