I have a Mk 4 roadster with the duel roll bar installation. Has anyone modified this set up to SCCA specs for time trials and hill climbs? Also I need a set of 351W F5 headers. Any for sale out there in Factory Five Land.

You need to ask about the headers here: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/forumdisplay.php?32-Want-To-Buy-Parts and here: http://www.ffcars.com/forums/19-parts-sale-wanted/.

In the Parts for sale section Bren has a set of headers listed for $600. It is an older posting, from August 2014, but he may still have them. It's on the 3rd page of the parts for sale.
HTH, Mike.
Haha, HI! No, they are not still for sale. I sent them back to FF. Sorry.

I don't know what else is available, but the old Hooker Headers were a terrible fit on the 351.
Accessing the header bolts and even spark plugs was REALLY bad and not even possible without some kind of modification.

Sorry Bren, I know it was a while ago, but you never know.

I just discovered the Hooker header/Dart PRO1 351W problem on my build. Did not notice the misfit until the body came off for painting and had a couple header bolts come loose. That's when I saw the black soot. Anyone with a fix other than buying new headers?

I have put a pointer where the machining of the Dart PRO1 header stops. It is quite clear that the Hooker headers are wider (top to bottom) and the header rests on the lip past the machine face. Thus a gap between the two components. Drove the car around 30 miles like this. Body is off for painting and was just doing a once over while the body was off. Couple of DS header bolts were loose and then noticed the soot.
Not sure if one could machine the bottom of the Hooker header to fit the machined line on the Dart. Man, thought I was in the clear with this part of the build. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.46867
