i have searched, only found the latch fix, my question is the lever itself is not sturdy, bends twists is there a upgrade or fix, suggestions?

It is on the weak side but... if you remove the spring per the other thread and lube the entire mechanism really well, the effort is low enough that you won't bend the lever. Although white grease works in the areas you can get to, I use gear oil so it can soak into the interior of the cage that the plunger rides in.
