My car will be back from the paint shop soon and I wonder what i need to do before I start the engine. It has sat unstarted for 6 months, The fuel bowls and supply line are empty. I ran the engine several times before storage and it ran fine. This is an engine with about 39,000 miles on it.

Pull the coil and run the starter to build oil pressure and put the wire back on. By the time you prime the oil system the fuel should be back up. It may run like crap until the carb cleans up a bit. You may want to put some stabil and or carb cleaner in the tank and some fresh fuel but other than that it should be fine. JMHO, Richard.

Yeah , we live in Florida, you can pretty much just start it up. The snowbirds leave their cars here for the summer and do it all the time......steven

This snowbird does exactly what Richard suggested... :)

I'll do as Richard said. I was concerned about priming the oil like a true first start, but I'm happy that isn't necessary. Thanks to all.
