Wondering what you are all planning to do to protect your windshield frames.

With auto-x, we have lots of people in & out of the car (mainly passenger, for instruction etc) and it's pretty tempting to grab the frame to help pull yourself out of the car.

Our plan is repeated warnings & a bright yellow or similar sticker on the windshield to the effect of "NO PULL"

Anyone have other plans?

Haven't thought much about this yet. How flimsy is the windshield frame? The roadster windshield was certainly fragile, to say the least. I had a few people grab it instinctively, but lucked out and never had a problem.

I pulled on it plenty of times getting in and out, it has held up pretty good. I would jump the doors since there not the best to be opened a million times. It's not even a jump if your over like 5'6" cause you can just step in and hold rollbar.

I was looking at this problem last night. I was thinking about drilling and pinning the mount once it has been set correctly. I think you could still crack the windshield if you pull hard enough but at least the frame will not move(maybe bend)

Here's a video we took of the movement for those who haven't installed the windshield yet:

Quiny, the bolts are not moving, the structure is bending slightly. Side window like on your Miata Tamra? I want to work on them for mine

Reviving a old thread.
I was thinking about beefing up the strength of the windshield frame.
Does the fiberglass cover come off?
Does anybody have a picture of what is inside?
Thanks
