Some of the aftermarket engine mounts don't fit out of the box on the 06-07 models because, apparently, there is some bracket used in the earlier models that was not part of the motor mount, but it IS part of the newer mount on the 06 - 07. So you have to get the brackets off an earlier car.
Can anyone tell me if it's the mounts shown below with a red star? What about the piece with the question mark on it?

I believe the plates with stars are oem on all the cars.
Those plates are not need if you are using the Perrin mounts.

Some of the parts incorporate a heat shield if used on turbo cars.

I am getting the cusco mounts. They dont seem to have the plates. I read on NASIOC about the issue.

I used my stock plates with the Cusco mounts. The Cusco mounts don't have the expanse of exposed rubber to get heat damaged, but I used them anyway.

What year was your donor? What I read is that the plates are built INTO the 06 07 mounts and are not removable. My donor is an 07.

Hindsight.
All the cars come with the mounting plates. All removable.
Some mounting plates have a sheet metal heat shield also.
Some mounting plates have heat shields as an extension of the plate itself.
See your picture above in post #1, it shows both kinds of mounting plates.
Do you have the plates off your donor? If you use them with your new mounts, you should be good to go.

My heat shields were just glued on so I sheared them off with a chisel, hammered them flat and reused them with my Cusco mounts. My donor was an 05

Thanks guys.
Bob, I see some sort of plate there but I read on another forum that they are part of the mount. I will just wait until the Cusco mounts arrive and then take the mounts off my engine and figure out what I'm missing, if anything.

You may want to check the ones you have first. Your engine has an aftermarket dogbone on it. Good chance it has aftermarket motor mounts.

Good point. I will pull them off over the holiday break and post back up. I'm still pretty set on Cusco mounts because I like the fact that if they fail, they can't easily tear apart due to their design. I know that the Perrin mounts look different from the Cusco and have built in protection against coming apart too, but they are also a lot more money than I want to spend considering I can get all 3 Cusco mounts for around $300 even.

Bob, thanks for the link - In reading the link you sent, I realized the facts I had were a bit wrong. That Megan Racing page explains the integrated mounts were an 05-06 thing, and that in 07, they want back to the 2002-2004 style mounts which means I'm not impacted by the "missing bracket" issue.
