Hello All, I'm glad to be a part of the forum! I'm a 40 y/o professional in the global supply chain industry... born, raised, and still live in beautiful Austin, Texas with my wife and two teenage daughters. I, too, am a life-long tinkerer, shade tree mechanic, and overall handy guy that always needs something to be working on. I've spent a fair amount of time working on cars as well as tearing down and rebuilding ATVs so I feel very comfortable taking on the build of a kit car and look forward to the challenge!

My 13 y/o daughter is a tinkerer as well and so I plan to turn this into a father-daughter build... we are targeting a MkIV kit purchase in the back half of 2015. Still researching/planning and working through all the details like engine selection and such, but already having a great time reading the build threads of others and reading through all the advice posted on this forum. The support structure on this forum of fellow builders/owners is phenomenal!

I can't wait to get started and will certainly be posting a lot of questions as I get through the planning phase.

Any guys local to the Austin or surrounding areas that would be willing to converse about their build and let me take a look? I live in Cedar Park.

Thanks!
Brian

Hey Brian,

I'm new here also. I live in the Austin area (Spicewood) and will be purchasing a roadster kit this upcoming year. We should get in touch. I just sold my high performance boat business and this will be my retirement project. I'd love to hear from some locals. I know I've seen a large number of Cobras in my area on several occasions.

Welcome to the forum. You and your daughter will have many hours together having fun and then going on trips.

We also had some great Hill Country drives with plenty of barbecue and tequila afterwards!
