I get a pretty steady request for my sheet metal plans for the Coyote engine builds. I have contacted several of the forum vendors to see if they were interested in making the parts but as of now, none have shown interest. From feedback of builders having the panels made, a place in Alabama has given me a quote of about $116 (plus S&H, tax) for the four panels needed for the DS foot box. The quote is for a minimum of 8 sets. If you want a set, please reply. I'm not sure how the delivery will work out as of now but perhaps they can be sent individually from the manufacture.

These are pictures from my build thread.

Hi,
I am attending the FF build school this weekend, and am planning a MK4 build with the Coyote engine. I am definitely interested in the foot box mod, and there are a few other people that are thinking about the Coyote here at the class. I will discuss this with them, and see if they have any interest.

I have two versions of the panels one of which requires the 3/4" sq. tube at the inside front corner of the footbox to be moved back 3/4". This gives a little more room to install the stainless headers without removing the studs in the heads. It also makes room for a heat shield at the corner. This panel has a 45* bend instead of the 3/4" radius shown in my build thread. The other option is a sq. corner like the factory panel has and no frame mod is required.

The panels will be .040 thk. 6061-T6 sheet, same as the factory uses. the four panels are:
1. Foot box top
2. Foot box inside panel
3. small triangular part to fill the intersection of the side panel to the 2"X2" tube
4. Firewall

The firewall panel doesn't have to be made but moving the top of the firewall outboard opens up a hole in the firewall that needs to be patched. I used my old firewall behind the new one as a doubler to stiffen it up.

If you want on the list, PM me with the side panel option you would like, sq. or 45*. Sound like there is enough interest from both forums to get both options built.

I have eight now if everyone sticks when the money is due. I'm working on shipping details with the supplier. Looks like total cost with S&H may be less than $135.

I've spoken to king about this and for now I'm "un-deleting" and reopening this thread so that he can continue to see who is interested in these panels while he searches for a vendor.

Is this the mod that gives back a few inches of foot room? I can not open photos at work, but when I get home I will find the thread. If it is the same one I would be interested in it also. I am ordering my kit this spring or summer.

If you are building using the Coyote engine, FFR supplies additional sheet metal, referred to as mod motor sheet metal, to replace some panels around the DS foot box for added engine clearance. Unfortunately, what room they give to the engine side is taken away from the inside foot room. This design keeps the foot room at the bottom where it is needed and removes it at the top where the engine needs it. The foot room at the bottom remains the same as the standard sheet metal provides.
