Just cut the hole for the hood scoop. I have two pieces of fiberglass with a little separation in the hole of the hood. Is that the way its suppose to be? If so, what should I fill it with? I cant tell by any pictures if this is the way its suppose to be.

I filled mine with short strand fiberglass filler, worked great.

Could not find the thread but I have seen guys open the gap a bit and get HSRF in between the layers and then clamp it all the way around.

There are several posts where they use HSRF to help secure the hood hinge plate and shock plates in addition to the rivets.

Other will chime in I am sure.

Here is the thread I was referencing. http://www.ffcars.com/forums/17-factory-five-roadsters/302414-two-hood-layers.html#post2770491

Another HSRF user for the gap between the inner and outer hood panels. Make sure you get it back in there a bit so you can then shape the opening with a smooth radius.

At my shop we also use HSRF but it is expensive and sometimes hard to find, A filler product called Kitty Hair (short strand filler)will work just fine. once you "back paddle" the product into the opening, lightly pinch the two together so you are not creating a bulge.
