Performance Auto sent pictures of my car still in the booth. This was after the last coat of clear and before the buff.

So, your plate will read ANW or ROOTBR, right? Beautiful color!

Thanks to all for the positive comments. My wife choose the colors and I think she did a great job. I learned a long time ago to just let her do it even if I originally think its going to be bad. She has the vision not me. Truth is she could have chosen pink with yellow stripes and I would have been happy as long as she let me build it. It's a small price.
I think DARKPT has a good idea for the plate.

This is always a very exciting time in the building process: the point where you get your first look at your car in its "party dress!" At this point, you have a much clearer idea of how this is all coming together, and that it won't be long at all before you are rolling down the road. Congratulations, but don't rush the last bits.

Awesome look. It is not a typical Cobra color and looks stunning. Tell your wife what a great job she did!

WOW!!!
I see you went with the dark stripes, very good choice in my opinion.
I love the fact that it is different.

Lokking good Jeff. We look forward to seeing it soon. With respect to the inevitable road rash, there's two ways to treat these cars:
1) Drive it
2) Park it
We have just under 3000 miles on ours and have the scars to prove it but have really enjoyed those miles.

Mike is right, I've got a few nicks, some from the road, some self inflicted (got to move that air compressor to the other side of the garage!) ARGH!
But I don't sweat them (too much) because I got them while enjoying the drive, the cruise ins, the road rallys, etc. Make sure to get some touch up/left over paint from your painter and/or the mix info. Metallics will never be perfect due to the differences between spraying and brushing touch up into a chip, but it'll be close. Most people don't even see our few chips until I point them out.
Looking forward to you joining us on some central Florida cruises!

I got to see it today in person and in the sun, WOW the color pops in the sun. Joey was a little more than halfway done with the wet sand and the first level of polishing when I got there today. First pics were with the sun away from me (LF fender) and the later were with the sun behind me. Really glossy and deep shine and he's not done polishing/glazing it yet.

I want to thank you for the pictures and the progress update. I live 90 miles away and I'm unable to see it as often as I'd like so this helps alot. When I look at the pictures I see alot of white smudges. Is that a reflection or part of the sanding/polishing process?

Those are clouds (or foam, to keep the Rootbeer motif!).

The white stuff (ha, the cloud comment was good!) is either sanding sludge that dried on the car, or residue from the compound being rubbed in.
We're wet sanding and buffing our '68 Mustang project right now and have the same thing. When it's all done a final glaze is applied and the whole car wiped down. You'll not see that in the final work...

What Mark said, I took a microfiber cloth and just wiped off the buffing compound residue, after glazing the shine will be much deeper.
